Daikin DAFU 1000 portable air filtration unit
The DAFU 1000 circulates room air through a MERV 8 prefilter and an H14 HEPA filter. Its vertical cabinet combines a 254 nm UV lamp, a variable-speed EC fan and lockable castor wheels, making it practical to position in offices, classrooms, conference rooms, restaurants and hotel spaces.
Filtration and airflow control
Daikin specifies the H14 HEPA filter at 99.99% efficiency for 0.3-micron particles. This is a filter rating, rather than a guarantee that every pollutant will be removed from a room. The MERV 8 prefilter captures dust before the later filtration stages. An optional activated-carbon filter is available for odour-related applications.
A manual speed controller adjusts the EC fan. The catalogue lists Turbo, Boost and Quiet operating points at 1,000, 650 and 480 CFM respectively. A green indicator shows that the unit is running, while a red indicator signals when the HEPA filter needs replacement.
Recirculation and exhaust modes
For recirculation, the unit filters air and returns it to the room. For an exhaust arrangement, an optional transition plate connects the discharge to a 10-inch flexible duct. These are different installation arrangements; exhaust airflow and room requirements should be considered when selecting the configuration.

Catalogue sound-pressure values are calculated at 1.5 m. The catalogue identifies RAL 9002 as the standard casing finish; use the colour selector above for the available white and black product variants.

Room coverage depends on the selected air-change rate. At nominal airflow of 1,000 CFM and a 3 m ceiling height, Daikin’s selection guide gives the following examples:
