Daikin MC55VB compact air purifier
The Daikin MC55VB is a white, floor-standing air purifier for home interiors and smaller rooms. It combines an electrostatic HEPA dust-collection filter, a prefilter and a deodorising filter with Daikin Streamer technology and active plasma ion discharge. Air enters from three directions, while dust, PM2.5 and odour sensors help Auto Fan mode respond to changes in the room.
Filtration and odour control
The prefilter catches larger dust particles. The electrostatic HEPA filter uses charged fibres to collect fine dust; Daikin specifies 99.97% removal of 0.3-micron particles for the filter. The deodorising filter adsorbs odours, and Streamer technology acts on substances captured inside the unit. Active plasma ions are released into the outgoing air.
The filter rating is not a guarantee of the same removal rate throughout a room. Daikin notes that the unit cannot remove all substances in cigarette smoke, including carbon monoxide, or all continuously generated odours.
Four fan speeds for different needs
Choose Quiet, Low, Standard or Turbo operation. Quiet mode runs at 19 dB(A) with 66 m³/h airflow; Turbo increases airflow to 330 m³/h. Auto Fan mode adjusts operation using the sensors. Econo mode, anti-pollen mode, adjustable indicator brightness, child lock and automatic restart provide additional day-to-day controls.

Choosing a room and maintaining the filters
The 41 m² figure is a manufacturer test-based room-area rating at maximum fan speed. Under JEM 1467, it describes a space in which a specified amount of dust can be removed in 30 minutes. Lower fan speeds provide less airflow. The 27 × 27 cm footprint makes the unit easy to accommodate, with space around its air inlets and outlet.
Daikin’s leaflet lists replacement of the dust-collection filter after about ten years and identifies KAFP080B4 as the replacement part. Follow the operating manual for cleaning and replacement guidance; the ten-year figure is not a product warranty. The leaflet describes the deodorising filter as regenerating its adsorption capacity without routine replacement.
This is an air purifier, not a medical device. Laboratory results for Streamer discharge devices should not be treated as proof of MC55VB performance in an occupied room.
