Daikin FXMQ140PBV1 ducted VRV indoor unit
The FXMQ140PBV1 belongs to the FXMQ-PBV1 ceiling-mounted ducted range. Its 16 kW net cooling and 18 kW net heating capacity can be matched to the room load while the unit is concealed above the ceiling. Air is distributed through a separately designed duct network and grilles. Assess capacity, duct resistance and service access together when selecting this indoor unit for a VRV system.
Cooling and heating specifications
| Indoor model | FXMQ140PBV1 |
|---|---|
| Net cooling capacity | 16 kW / 54,600 Btu/h |
| Net heating capacity | 18 kW / 61,400 Btu/h |
| Manufacturer capacity class | 6 HP |
| Indoor power input, cooling / heating | 0.405 / 0.380 kW |
Cooling ratings use 27°C dry bulb / 19°C wet bulb indoors and 35°C dry bulb outdoors. Heating ratings use 20°C dry bulb indoors and 7°C dry bulb / 6°C wet bulb outdoors. Both use rated external static pressure, 7.5 m equivalent piping length and zero height difference. Capacities include indoor fan motor heat. Listed indoor power input is at rated external static pressure and is not the consumption of the complete VRV system.
Airflow and adjustable static pressure
| Airflow HH / H / L | 46 / 39 / 32 m³/min |
|---|---|
| Rated external static pressure | 100 Pa |
| Adjustable external static pressure | 50–140 Pa, 10 stages |
| Air-filter pressure drop | 10 Pa |
| Sound pressure HH / H / L | 46 / 45 / 43 dB(A) |
| Fan | Direct-drive sirocco fan |
The remote controller allows 10 static-pressure settings for this model. Check the fan-performance curves against the installed duct network and include filter resistance: the stated ESP excludes the air-filter pressure drop. HH, H and L identify the three airflow settings. For input at maximum airflow and maximum static pressure, use the databook electrical characteristics rather than the rated input above.
Sound figures are anechoic-chamber conversion values measured 1.5 m below the unit centre. Actual installed levels may be higher because of ambient conditions and room reflections.
Dimensions and installation connections
| Indoor body H × W × D | 300 × 1,400 × 700 mm |
|---|---|
| Unit mass | 46 kg |
| Electrical supply | 1 phase, 220–240 V, 50/60 Hz |
| Liquid / gas pipe connections | 9.5 / 15.9 mm, flare connections |
| Drain connection | VP25: 32 mm external / 25 mm internal diameter |
| Casing | Galvanised steel plate |
| Refrigerant control | Electronic expansion valve |
| Temperature control | Microprocessor thermostat for cooling and heating |
The 300 mm dimension is the body height, not the full ceiling clearance required for installation. Use the dimensional drawings to allow space for suspension, duct connections, drainage, pipework and maintenance.
Filters and system selection
The specification lists a standard pre-filter. High-efficiency and long-life filters are optional accessories; the notes call for suitable suction-side duct filtration with at least 50% dust collection efficiency by the stated gravity method. Confirm the selected filter arrangement and include its pressure drop in the duct design. Safety devices listed in the databook are a fuse and fan-driver overload protector.
